Sleepouts / Cabins

Crown cabins is a tremendously popular answer to many issues relating to the shortage of residential space. These buildings are most commonly used as sleepouts, portable offices, small-businesses spaces, or even storage. Customise your unit with a choice of carpet or vinyl. The layout can be changed to suit your needs.

The portable nature of Crown Cabins provide a great deal of flexibility. With building width being a maximum of 2.5m wide, these can easily be towed behind a standard vehicle by adding the necessary draw-bar, wheels and registration (supplied as an optional extra). Alternatively, the units are transported via HIAB by using the lifting lugs that come standard on all portable buildings.

As these units are typically on wheels, no building consent is required as they do not come under the Building Act. If it doesn’t have wheels and is under 10m² floor area, building consent is still not required however some conditions apply. Your local council would be able to clarify. Below are some of the standard building sizes and layouts.
